The story is the same whether you buy a 4x2 or a 4x4 because in 2016 all two-wheel-drive Tacomas adopted the jacked-up stance of their four-wheel-drive brethren. And frankly you'll also notice it when you hoist yourself up into the cab, which is handsome and functional enough but has an odd driving position born of the need for maximum underbody clearance. You can see it in the truck's stance, its ground clearance and the cut of its front bumper. I get between 22- 25 miles per gallon still, with 4 -wheel drive. Everything which i wrote two years ago holds true today, entering my fifth year as owner.

UPDATE This is the loveliest and most responsive, durable and phenomenally well-appointed vehicle on the planet, in my opinion. I am an elder: it will likely be my last vehicle for I do not plan to ever trade it in. Here, 3 years out, my truck has proven to be my consummate driving experience. The style was created by some artists: just gorgeous. The driving experience is glorious you can really feel the power in a manual. But its features are superb: it is both rugged and technologically … brilliant. It is a color called Quicksand and to this day people stop me to compliment me on my truck's beauty. Toyota created my dream truck and I was fortunate enough to actually get it! The dealer where I purchased it, TOYOTA WEST, COLUMBUS OHIO provided superb sales people (Chad and Michael) to help me work out the details. Been all over Nevada, on and off-road with nary a complaint. Truck is still going strong after 4 years with no major issues or irritations. Toyota fixed the issue with the Entune head unit in December and it has been solid since. An irritation for sure, but I still love the truck.

is a noticeable humming when cruising in 4th gear as the accelerator is just being engaged/disengaged.Įtune system does random reboots usually when using Bluetooth audio and a call comes in. Only one thing that I need to follow up with the Service dept. Update Nov 17: Still love the truck and no major issues to report. Overall I love the truck and off-road comfort is amazing without … sacrificing the on road sensibility. I will say that it could do with a little more low end torque and wish there was a supercharger/turbo option.

The engine has been a point of contention so I will make this short, normal every day driving you would never notice and by purchasing a manual transmission I am not subject to the "indecisive" automatic.
